Exporting audio/MIDI data in realtime using M4L

Post by john.marinelli » Sun Sep 15, 2019 11:10 am

Hi all,

Sorry if this question has been asked before. I tried searching through the M4L forums, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I am a software developer by trade, and I want to generate visuals using realtime audio data.

I would like to be able to export MIDI data in realtime using M4L. In an ideal situation, I imagine M4L exposes an event driven API that I can hook into and receive MIDI input to a custom program.

Another feature I would _love_ to have (but doubt it exists) is a way to capture audio data from a given track. If this isn't possible using M4L, I'd be willing to write my own software. If anyone knows of any existing work in this area, I'd be interesting in hearing about it.
