Live 8 max - download error from Live GUI
Live 8 max - download error from Live GUI
Live 8, I drop in a max Instrument. I check the instrument panel at the bottom of the GUI and it says I don't have max/msp installed, I need to specify the path for it or download the software. I hit the download link and get the error below from this web site:
http://cycling74.s3.amazonaws.com/download/maxforlive

</Error>
I'll go the manual route to install the software.
edit - I did the manual install and I get the same error when I go to authorize from the Preferences menu. I downloaded max 6.0 which I have a license for and it won't authorize because I keep getting the error above.

Re: Live 8 max download errror from Live GUI
I got resolved authorize max after going through the GUI a few times (I didn't take notes of what I did.)
now I can drop a max instrument into a track and see the basic midi in/plugout~ out ports. when I go to edit the max device I get this error at the very bottom of the Live GUI
"The max function "Edit With Preview" returned an error with -1: Internal error" and I can't edit the max device.

Live 8? Which Max version did you install?

Live 8.2, max 6.0
I haven't kept up on my upgrades in a while, I'll hold out until Live 10 is out.
I'm still poking away at this, same error pops up. my path setting in preferences looks OK, it points to the directory at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Cycling '74\Max 6.0
where the "Max RT" application resides.
Thanks!

Live 10 was released in February of 2018, nearly two years ago…I'll hold out until Live 10 is out

omfg genuinely lmfao over this. I saw the beta testing threads and thought it was still in beta pre-release.
upgraded to Live 10 and all's well. expensive as #$% work around but well worth it. NEW DAW DAY!!
