max for live random parameter

Post by peacefulljeff » Sun Aug 02, 2020 12:07 am

Hey everyone,

I want to randomize certain parameters within operator so that i can play the instrument and get a new sound with every note. I know you can use Max's LFO to get random values of a parameter but this wont work for me because the parameters need to stay consistent for the duration of the note and then change next time i hit the midi controller. More like a random envelope rather than an LFO. IF anyone knows a way to randomize a single parameter with each new note that would work because i can then just make a group of that for all the individual parameters i want to modulate. Hopefully that makes sense, let me know if you have any ideas!

Sadly it’s not possible due to how operator works. I guess if it was MPE compatible that would be another story.
Currently the only workaround would be to duplicate it across several chains in a rack and then round-robin the voice allocation and parameter randomizing.
