Controlling a kaossilator pro with M4L

Post by andermachines » Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:42 pm

So I have a Korg Kaossilator Pro & I want to be able to control it with MIDI signals from Ableton.

I've found one M4L controller for the Kaossilator pro, but the problem is it doesn't allow for any control via other MIDI controllers (i.e. a keyboard), plus it doesn't really send the right signal based on your cursor's position, it only sends the on/off signal.

I realize that the kind of MIDI input the Kaossilator is expecting isn't typical note data, and you'd have to somehow map the keyboard controls to the x & y position on the touch screen. But the only way to do that which I've found, either involves getting an arduino board (which would be cheap but possibly frustrating) or a "smart" MIDI cable (which would be simpler but more expensive). I'd rather not do either of those things if I can, & I'm wondering if there isn't a way to do this using M4L devices
