Max for Live Convoltuion Reverb Crashes Ableton - Unable to open set

Post by doctor_bower » Thu Nov 19, 2020 2:58 am

Hi all,

There is an outstanding bug in ableton where Max For Live devices crash ableton projects with large track counts (e.g. 100+ tracks).

I am now unable to open my project because it has a Convolution Reverb Pro in there.

Does anyone know how to disable / bypass max for live on opening (with Ableton 10.1.30?)

Also - I previously (several years ago) saw that this bug was fixed but it appears not to be the case.

Thanks,
Peter

My suggestion would be for you to open up your default Live set, and then go to the browser and drag in tracks (except for the ones with the problematic plugin) and try to 'rebuild' it that way. It's not an ideal solution, as many things won't translate (sends / returns, scene names, etc..) but it's the best answer I got for ya!

rename or delete the convolution.amxd file in your pack.
copy the text, open Live > drag in empty M4L device > open Max editor > paste > save M4L device
