anyone know of a decent M4L audio gate lurking out there somewhere in the interwebsverse?
I'm looking for what is essentially a M4L version of the built in Live audio gate (or something with the same basic functionality), to use as a building block for a device I'm trying to build. definitely not looking to reinvent the wheel, since it's really just one component of a larger puzzle--just something functional I can hook into.
I was sure I would find one in the Max for Live Essentials Pack, but I don't see anything that looks like it fits the bill. and of course, when I look at the M4L website, it looks like most of the stuff labeled 'gate' is for sequencer-triggered, or MIDI-triggered gating, which won't get me where I need to be, at least not without the kind of modification I'm hoping to avoid.
is there an M4L audio gate with sidechain? [PLZ HALP]

The sidechain audio routing with menu choosers was new to Live 10 (I think, not 100% sure), older devices won't have the sidechain menus (until Live 9 it needed at least 2 devices, one "send" and one "receive").
For examples of the newer Live 10 sidechain, C74's own Audio Routes package has some (like "Audio Receiver.amxd").

There is a tutorial named "Dynamics Tutorial 2: Dynamics Processing" inside Max, and googling for "max msp noise gate" should return other examples like this one from Max Cookbook:

ah, thank you! this should help. makes sense then, why there's a bit of a dearth of gating in M4L--sidechaining is kind of an important feature. for my purposes, the sidechain will be triggered internally (i.e. not using another track in the session), but obviously that's not a very common use case, so I wouldn't expect there to be too many examples floating around.pottering wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 2:38 amThe sidechain audio routing with menu choosers was new to Live 10 (I think, not 100% sure), older devices won't have the sidechain menus (until Live 9 it needed at least 2 devices, one "send" and one "receive").
