sampler for midi patterns?

Post by yentzee » Mon Jun 28, 2021 8:24 pm

Hi,
I am looking for a device that allows to create or load a number of patterns that can be played when a note is pressed.
So for example when I press C1 it plays pattern 1, c#1 pattern 2 and so on.
Ideally with options like
play pattern from start
play pattern from the point that matches where the position of the song (so if the song is at the second quarter of a bar the pattern plays from there)
play pattern from a set point
loop pattern / set loop points
etc.
The reason for me looking for something like this is that I would like to have a couple of drumfills in form of mididata that can be used to jam and in my case send through expert sleepers to my modular system and flick a gated switch to switch between the pattern coming from my sequencer and the fill pattern.
Is there such a thing?
Thanks for helping
:)

Any reason you don't want to/can't use clips?

yes, i would have to import the clips in each project I am using this for and I was hoping that there are some more tricks in such a device if there was some.
Is there any way to pack the clips together?
I already got annoyed when using clyphx having a column with clips for the functions.

Check my device called ti-ga-di-ga-doum on maxforlive.com
Maybe it will suit your needs.

Thanks for the link. I am still at work and din't completely understand how it works. Gonna check later.
Just being curious. If I wanted to use clips how would I setup the clips that they play immediately in sync when triggered and stop on release / jump back to the clip playing before?

Follow Actions would probably do it.

Yes I thought so but I couldn't figure out how to change to another sequence when pressing a key and straight jumping back after releasing.

Awesome, thanks.
Does anyone know if there is a way to have a divider between columns using max or Clyphx or fold a column so the numerous clips are not visible?
