Help on a Drum and Bass intro

Post by blaise420 » Mon May 22, 2017 6:09 pm

Hi. I hear a lot of DnB tunes start off with what sounds like a kick sample with a short attack layered with a whoosh type effect. Sorry if that description isn't very descriptive but its the best I can do. Any advice how to achieve that??

Not exactly sure what you mean but one thing you can do to create a ''woosh effect'' is whack on a load of reverb onto a sample, then freeze and flatten the track, slice out the impact of the noise and just take the reverb tail. Can lead to some interesting results. Also try reversing the reverb tail an it will create a building effect.
