Making gliding 808 bass in Operator

Post by marra » Wed Jun 21, 2017 5:59 pm

I feel silly asking such a basic question but here goes:

I'm trying to make that gliding/sliding 808 bass, but all the tutorials I've come across use samples:

How to make your 808's Glide/Slide in Ableton Live 9.6 using Sampler: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEhq15npvBw
This one is not in Ableton but I really like the sound: FL Studio 12 Trap Beat Tutorial | Part 4 Bass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFAMlBBJzCg

Instead, how do I make it from scratch in Operator? I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do the gliding/sliding part. I did find https://www.ableton.com/answers/is-it-p ... -mono-mode but that just made me more confused.

So far I've:

1. Set Voices to 1
2. Added the Saturator plugin to make things nice and dirty
3. Layered the bass with a kick drum using Instrument Rack (EQed out its bottom) to spice things up a little - not sure if this is neccessary or even recommended
4. [...suggestions welcome...]

Thanks!
