Automatic quantization of audio clips in arrangement view?

Post by AA » Sat Jan 17, 2009 5:27 pm

So, I did a search and found nothing about it.

I need to quantize a recorded guitar track with bad timing in arrangement view. I can't re-record it and I don't want to use time-stretching.

What I'd do in other programs like Cubase would be to cut the whole recording in clips (so that each clip starts with the note attack, for instance), hit quantize, and I'd have a metronome-perfect guitar track.

With Live I couldn't find a way to quantize multiple audio clips so I just split the audio where I want it with quantize turned off, then turn it back on and drag the clip which snaps to grid. Then, I'd have to reset the end of the clip so it matches the start of the next one.

This is pretty painful to do by hand, and it would be pretty much half the job if I could find a way to auto quantize once I'm finished cutting.

Any ideas? Either there is an easy workaround or I'm the only one doing this kind of job! :D
