the remote sl series would have been perfect if it wasn't for the complete garbage encoders and it is now apparent that the mkII series hasn't addressed that

I suspect the way the APC40 works with Live will be refined over time with some firmware updates, and updates to Live itself.

well i hope all my bitchin is completely unfounded
if the encoders are really high quality i''l be happy

i don't know if anyone has already thought of this or not but the button matrix could actually be used as a type of keyboard (microtonal or otherwise)

just put one midi note per key and load up your synths

the same could be do with one shot samples as well

add arps and clip envelopes and things could get pretty wild

Personally, I don't mind them. They're a bit close together but in use they don't really bother me. The faders tend to piss me off more. But yeah, at the end of the day, an AKAI controller keyboard with Automap would be pretty sexy.
