The faders could be used for note velocities maybe.

4 tracks of 16 steps would also be cool, and then you could scroll down to access more tracks

That would be unbelievably cool since I think the 4 track, 16 note step sequencer showing in maxforlive vid is quite limited. Is maxforlive coming out with the APC40 or later, and will there be bundle deals?
I'm starting to think i'm invisible on this forum, so i'll reply to myself-

Reply: Yes Acid303, of course you can easily do all of these things.

Acid303: Oh cheers, thanks for the reply

Hello,

New to Ableton, started from scratch 4 weeks ago and so far I've managed a few low key tracks.

My question is about the APC40 as I'm pretty fed up of using a mouse these days ( still a vinyl junkie when DJing )

I'm getting more and more into the Operator section of Ableton ( I have version 6 which came with the laptop i purchased 2nd hand ) and i want to know whether the APC 40 is able to control the Operator's functions at all? With the bank of 4 oscillators on the left and 3 parameters to adjust is this likely to be controlled via the APC40 out of the box or would it require me updating Ableton? ( i know i have to go higher than 6 already )

I've watched a few videos but nothing seems to point to it doing this, i would assume it will come pre mapped for this scenario, but would like to clear this up before considering buying it.

Thanks in advance

MrShine

Re: Operator control.

Hit select track, and the macro device encoders are automatically mapped to operator, the shift button gives you access to 8 banks of Operator's parameters.
Best,
Jesse

hi Jesse,
seems you're involved in the APC40 dev
so, please are you able to answer to my last post....or part of it
or do we need to wait for the M4L release
to know what would be possible and what won't...

thanks in advance

The Ohm is sweet, no color changing lights or Live specific interaction, and it will be 2x the price - but it has a nice build and is made with non-slave labor.

Still, I pre-ordered my APC for $320...
