I don't know german, so I can't see what that seller is saying. But I'm almost certain that I've read somewhere on this forum (this thread?), a member of the Ableton team saying that this was the case.

I just got my APC-40 last night! I just want to say that it is everything that it was hyped to be. It loaded and auto mapped in seconds...LED's were spot on. It is much thinner then I thought it was going to be and great build quality. Nice job Akai and THANK YOU!

as the software requirements are ableton live 7 or higher, i suppose that the patch also works for live 7

Don't know if I misread you.
Regarding upgrade
patch: The latest Live 7 version is APC40 compatible already.
In case of upgrade
path: See my earlier answer.

Does anyone know how a footswitch works with the APC40? If you want to control looper, would it control looper on whichever track is selected or does it just send one CC?

Anything in particular you want to see in the video...or just general features?

If I could chime in, what would be cool is if you could show us which controls specifically can be remapped in Ableton --specifically, which buttons--as I know the device and track knobs can be remapped in their specific banks. I'd like to get any idea of how much customization out of the box does the APC40 allow.
thanks!

Boo.
Just got word from my local store where I pre-ordered an APC from, that Akai drastically overestimated their production of the apc 40. Of the 50 units that had been promised to be delivered to their store before the 30th, Akai is now saying they'll only be able to get 6 to them... shipping
sometime after the 30th. The owner of the store is thinking he's going to have to do a raffle for who (of 38 paid preorders) will get there's first.
Good luck to us all.
and BOO Akai, BOOO!

Argh, I got a notice from Musicians Friend saying that mine wont be shipping for another 30 days.
Isn't the point of a preorder to anticipate demand? I don't get it.
