i'm glad that I've finally found a way to improve my abby-performance and I want to share it with you.
I had those playback dropouts when I had a lot of tracks. This is done now
I bought a verbatim ssd expresscard/34 drive with 32GB (for the expresscard-slot in the laptop) and I've directed the virtual memory of windows to this drive, also the Decoding-Cache is on that new drive.
Now when I have projects running with a lot of tracks, I just copy that folder to the SSD-drive and work from there. It's a lot faster with loading and NO "red D" anymore at all.
I'm very excited about that, because I was close to switching to another DAW like Reaper (which is still amazing) due to the bad engine of live. Still you should consider using Reaper rewired to Live (you can use then VSTs in reaper and save some CPU when you use a lot of plugins).
