I perform live playing guitar along the backing tracks, which I launch from Live using foot MIDI pedal. Very rarely, but it happens, - I accidentally double-stomp the button or I would say I press too long, - not doing it as one shot - and thus MIDI controller considers it as a another hit.
So my question is next. Is it possible to lock the clip launch if that clip is already playing back? And that it would be unlocked as soon as the clip reaches its end? I know there are ‘trigger’, ‘gate’ and ‘repeat’ options but it seems not what would help me.
Thanks!
Avoiding accidental double pressing on a MIDI controller?

You could maybe do something with Bome's Midi Translator. It's got timer functions, so you could maybe code something so that it detects but doesn't trigger two CCs if they're within a short time of one another.
Other than that, I'd say practice treading on the pedal and then putting your foot elsewhere - rather than rocking your toe onto it.

Re: Avoiding accidental double pressing on a MIDI controller?
Yep.
Use a momentary foot pedal (like a sustain/expression pedal instead of one that "latches" on/off), and use bomes to only pass on the "on" state and swallow the "off state".
The paid version of bomes has timer functionality in it you could probably use to make double sure.
Nice thing about bomes too is then you can set things up so a single pedal controls each track arm/record.

Can't u just engage legato mode?
MBP 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, OS X 10.5.8, Live 8 Suite, Logic Studio 9, Ultralite Mk3

As I understand legato mode works when two midi notes interlap each other. In my situation I just have smth like two staccato (separate) notes. Or maybe I don't get smth in your exmplanation. Could you please clarify?bendybones wrote:Can't u just engage legato mode?

Re: Avoiding accidental double pressing on a MIDI controller?
Legato mode affects clip launch. not incoming MIDI notes as such.
If I read the top post correctly, then Legato Mode is exactly what u are looking for.
Search in the manual under Legato (pertaining to clip launch).
