APC40 power supply cable is too short

Has anyone found a replacement power supply for the APC40 - US power system - that has a longer cable length? I think the one with the APC40 is about 5 feet which is way way way too short. I know ... I can get a power strip and extension cord but that's a real drag.

thing is defnately envying the length of most other wires near it. I just hook up a nice 2 prong 10 footer to it. works fine.

I know I can get an extension cord but that always seems like a little more risk.

Yeah it's def wayyy too short. I think the best solution would be to buy a replacement adapter at a local electronics store that hopefully has a longer cord. Or if you wanna be super ghetto you could buy a thin extention cord like this:

And duct tape the hell out of the two cords so its one cord.

I'm sure there's thinner too that was after I just did a quick google sear

About 5 feet?

Try 3.5 feet UK power supply! Are they taking the PISS?

Kinda out of topic question, APC40 is USB powered right? Coz that's what I saw on the specs. But I saw a lot of videos on youtube that connected there APC40 via USB and power supply, why is that?

EDIT: I was wrong, still need the power supply for too much LEDs.LOL

yes. its way too short to do anything with. BOO. barely reaches from the floor up behind the studio desk to the apc. weak call, dudes. why skimp on the chords? i guess i could splice some more wire on it. lame to have to do that to a totally new piece of gear. wtf

I know this thread is over 3 years old now, but it popped up when searching for APC 40 power supply.

Anyway, it turns out that MOST hard drives use the same power 12VDC @ 3 amps.... So, if you have some external drives and you don't want to go find another cable, you might wanna try the hard drive power supplies you already have!

In my case it isn't that the cable is too short - it's that I didin't bring mine with me.
