Help me with midi-saving

Post by Rafal » Tue Aug 18, 2009 10:14 am

Hello

I have a question:

Is there possibility to save a clip with midi-controller settings (nanokontrol)?

I would like to set the settings for vst with midi-knobs sets to them.

Is it possible in live? if yes, how? As I save the clip then the midi settings are not saved within.

Thank you in advance.

I don't know if I understand your question correctly. Do you want to save the mapping of your MIDI controller knobs to the vst various functions?

Yes, to instrument (like Moog) or effect (like eq). I want to have fixed knobs for the particular parameters of the eq.

I would be happy to discover there is that option.

You need to activate the Midi Mapping mode by pressing the MIDI switch in Live's upper corner, then click on the function you want to control and send a MIDI message by turning a knob, moving a fader etc, and repeat for all the parameters you want to control. When you are finished, press the MIDI switch again to exit the MIDI mapping mode. If you save your project at that stage, your mapping will be saved. See chapter 26.2 of the Live 8's manual for more info.

I hope this will answer your question.

Nope. I would like to have set knobs for vst effects which I use for any instrument like eq and comp.

I have already found :

http://createdigitalmusic.com/2009/07/2 ... #more-6776

This operates 8 macros, so I can make the templates for my effetcs and that fulfills my goal.

Thats satisfy me till now.

Thank you for help.
