APC 40 and a Novation SL together? Also APC's CC's?

Hey Yall

So I wondering if its possible to map the Novation to specific things such as Mutes

WITHOUT overriding the Apc's controls

The reason I ask is the Apc 40 has an On/Off type button for Mutes

I want the Novation to have Momentary Mutes so the mute functions only with the press the button and Unmutes when I release the button.

will this mapping override the APC40's Mute functions. I'd like to have both!

I dont use AutoMaps with the Novation and Im on a mac and I dont have MIDI Yoke but I do have MIDI Stroke.

Also whats the deal with CC's and MIDI Channels on the APC 40?

Is there a chance if I map the Novation will I run the chance of overriding the APC

For example if I map CC1, MIDI channel 1, to a Solo on my Novation will I be overriding whatever function is used by the Apc on CC1 MIDI channel 1?

I wish I had a map of the CC's and MIDI Channels used by the APC so I could avoid overmapping. Or is this something I dont need to worry about.

From what I've experienced the APC uses channels 1-9 and pretty much all the CC's w/in those channels. Not all of them, but random ones so I stay away from those channels.

If you set up your Novation to send on another channel (10+) they shouldn't have a problem and yes you can program the novation to do anything and it won't override the APC. I have a footpedal that I use to arm and record tracks and it doesn't override the APC's built in function to do the same.

The APC hacks by nativeKontrol allow the controller to use momentary mutes.

OK so I got the APC and as far as mapping with the Novation and the APC

It kicks ass! I can map stuff to the Novation WITHOUT overriding the APC! That rocks!
