space stops software plugins
space stops software plugins
im running omnisphere within live. if i hold a chord while the transport is running and hit space, it immediately stops audio. with an ableton instrument there is a noticeable gap of audio. does anyone know how to stop the transport (ie hit space to stop the counter) without killing soft synth audio?
Re: space stops software plugins
I don't think it exactly stops audio.. I think it sends an all notes off message
?
?
Re: space stops software plugins
actually, a midi note off message would be more acceptable. i was specifically using a patch with a 3 second release. the space bar cuts audio instantly. i was using omnisphere. with an ableton instrument there is a drastically noticeable .5 second gap of no audio output.longjohns wrote:I don't think it exactly stops audio.. Re: space stops software plugins
interesting
I don't have omnisphere so I can't comment on that. with one i tried (stringtheory) it seemed to cut the note, but did not interfere with the decay
with sunra (generative, not dependent on midi input) the transport has no effect on it's playback
fwiw

Re: space stops software plugins
I get a cut of the sound on an ableton instrument
but it is not on the audio, it is on the input... try putting a big delay on the track and then stopping the transport. the delay continues

Re: space stops software plugins
it doesnt stop an effect output after the instrument. if the instrument itself has a long release, hitting the space bar on some built in instrument and other 3rd party plugings kills the patch... doenst let the release finish.longjohns wrote:

bottom line, i dont want the instrument to stop.
Re: space stops software plugins
yeah interesting
seems like the sample based instruments cut, the synth ones dont (electric, analog et al)

Re: space stops software plugins
its been since 8.0.5 this has been happening
i noticed it when one of my long samples in a drum rack just died when i hit stop (not just the space bar, any stop message)
