auto arm a track when dragging plugin/device to it?

I know I used to be able to drag a vst to a track, and it would automatically arm it, but it's not working anymore.

Is there somewhere to turn this on/off that I may have hit by accident? lol.

am I dreaming? Is it not possible to have the track "arm" when you drag a plugin over?

I thought it was, maybe I'm trippin lol.
