Record automation without erasing others on the same track?

Post by grind » Fri Nov 06, 2009 1:53 am

Hello!

When i use the rec button and tweak a button to rec an automation, this record erases the other automations on the current midi or audio track.
How can i record a new parameter's automation without erasing the others!?

this forum seems cool, just new in it...
hope i'll get some answers!
Thanks

this question is exactly the same as to why i registered to post on this forum. I understand how to record and view automation but as it comes to editing it just know of two way:
- draw mode toggled of, creating breakpoint envelopes
- draw mode toggled on, drawing with pencil tools to create flat steps (tempo-synced automation effects as advantage)

I have a preference for midi controlling my automation; it gives me more of a touch-feel control. Is there a way to do this without destructing the initial recorded clip in arrangement view?

Hi Guys,

If you turn off the track record arm button and then hit record in the transport bar at the top of the page you will be able to add new automation without deleting any of the old stuff.

I hope this is the answer you are looking for.

Thanks

Keith
