how do i change lives default set?
how do i change lives default set?
Hi
It's probabally easy but i just can't find out how to change the set that live starts with
I'd just like to have a template arranged in my usual fashion as it speeds things up, a drum rack and a couple of synths with my dials mapped, i don't want to have to navigate to my liabary and load a template there as i am too forgetfull
Thanks, Rich

It's really easy... just arrange your set the way you want it to be : channels, effects, racks, sends, midi mapping,etc... then open preferences > File/folder > Save current set as template and that's it, everytime you open Live, this set will be available to you.
Re: how do i change lives default set?
i actually wanted to change THE default live template, and it was as simple as an option in the preferences menu lol, and I've been using this program 2 years
thanks for the replys guys

Re: how do i change lives default set?
where is the default set actually saved? PC XP
I would like to change the default set but i would like to be able to recover it to the factory default if it all goes wrong.

Re: how do i change lives default set?
Just save the factory default set under a different name, then if it does all go wrong just load that one up and reinstate it as the default set?

Template Sets
Use the File/Folder Preferences' Save Current Set as Default button to save the current Live
Set as the default template. Live will use these settings as the initialized, default state for
new Live Sets. You can use this to pre-con gure:
? Your multichannel input/output setup.
? Preset devices, like EQs and Compressors, in every track.
? Computer key mappings.
? MIDI mappings.
The template Live Set, Template.als, is located in Live's Preferences folder and can be
copied or deleted from there.

Also I read somewhere that changing the default set can cause problems.
Do most people change their default set?
is there a likelihood of any problems
