Techno Hi hats

Hello everyone,
been a while since ive been on this have just started back into ableton again, still a novice but learning ;-) Im wondering if anyone can help me with a high hat sound ive been trying to get for the past day or so....listen to 1.55 on this track

...ive tried a few combinations but cant seem to get that ringing effect...any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Hi,

It sounds like tamborines to me with the attack rolled off a little. Give that a try and perhaps stick a filter delay on the top to fill the pattern out.

thanks mate, i'm aiming to start putting up new videos roughly every week and techno is the style I make personally so hopefully you will find it useful!

ive put a hit on every 8th note and the filter delay on it but im still not getting that ring to it...will tweak it another bit and see ;-)

It will have a lot to do with sample selection, you could also use an EQ8 with a notch filter to boost the frequencies by a few db somewhere in the high mids say 4k to 10k. Lastly try the frequency shifter effect and set it to ring mode, have a little play to add some metallic effects to your sound.
