sidechaining percussion bus

Post by rimnchop » Thu Feb 11, 2010 4:42 pm

hello :D
i have sum percussion loops which i want to sidechain off kick.is there anyway i can setup a percussion bus so i can send all of my percussion to it so it all duck's with the kick.
i have setup a duplicate of the kick and muted it so that the bassline is always sidechained even when the kick aint playing.
cheers 8)

there are a few ways you can do it. you can group all the tracks that you want sidechained together by selecting them all, and pressing ctrl(cmd)+G. or you can send all of the tracks you want sidechained to a send (make sure you send 100 percent of the signal and make sure the audio go to "sends only" in the output on the channel. then you are gonna want to put a comppressor on the channel (either the send or group track), select sidechain input from the percussion channel, and select the low pass EQ on the compressor and make set it to around 500 hz, maybe more maybe less. hope this helps...
