:2 *2 buttons greyed out in clip view

In the 'Sample' area of clip view, is there any rhyme or reason why certain of my samples have the :2 and *2 buttons are greyed out, and sometimes not? I would like to do more half time and double time of some of my samples, to mangle them up more, but i've noticed recently that many times they are greyed out.

any help?

IIRC if you have armed the track you can't edit some of the properties of the audio clips.

It's worth checking the clips are warped, you can't do anything major to their audio unless the warp button's up and running.

hmmm...have to investigate this further.

on one of my old projects i pulled up, in Arrangement mode, i started clicking on clips in the timeline... certain of the clips have the half/double available, others are greyed out. i couldn't see a pattern of why some were and others weren't able to do half/double...

strange...need to look further to see a pattern.

any additional info is appreciated. anybody else having this issue?

for me they are just grey, and seem to always work
