How to quickly start working
How to quickly start working
Hello, im going to have to switch sequencer again, and im thinking of using Live. But im so tired of lerning new sequencers, ive been trough many!!!
I was wondering if someone experianced could give me some tips how to get going! I understand the loop mode, but I dont understand how to make longer arangements with them. Is it advicable to use a keyboard for triggering the clips?
Thanx!
Kim

Thanks, well ive spent some time with the demo already, but im stuck, I cant figure out how to apply the loops to the sequencer. what happens is, I make some grooves I realy like, but then I cant save them because im in demo mode, and that makes me angry, loosing my good grooves, and it makes me not feel for continue exploring the software, basicaly!dirtystudios wrote:yeah...really the only thing to say is download the demo. you should have 80% of it down within an hour or two of messing about, the rest can be solved by quick references to the manual as you progress. it's really that easy.

Im not bying a product this expencive, before I have tested it with satisfying results!fatrabbit wrote:Well that frustration ends as soon as you buy it, heh!
To record into the arrange view, just hit record and launch clips.
The ableton website has the manual in pdf format too.
Is the only way to make an arangement with the clips to launch them live? Cant you drag and drop, or something? When im in arangement mode, I like to edit in detail. Though I suspect my use of Live 4 would be basicaly triggering clips from the loop mode live.
yes you can copy/paste clips - just select, ctrl-C, go to arrange, click where you want it ctrl-Vze2be wrote:Im not bying a product this expencive, before I have tested it with satisfying results!fatrabbit wrote:Well that frustration ends as soon as you buy it, heh!

Like they said, hit record and start triggering clips/tweaking etc in Session view. Switch to the arrange page and see/hear what you've done. If you want to save as audio, look in the manual at how to record to clips. (sorry, not too sure what the demo limitations are). It's a demo, like any demo you get to hang out with it as much as you want (in fact more than many others) but she won't go home with you on a first date!
I dont like dating demos that are not open. I want the real thing. Tracktion demo lets you save your edits, so you can leave the date with pride and dignity, if it was a miss match. I guess they won some customers by that. They won my hart for shure.muthafunka wrote:Like they said, hit record and start triggering clips/tweaking etc in Session view. Simply don´t close Live until you are satisfied and got your response key, then save your work!
