Seperate mix to headphones?

Post by Slapdash » Tue May 04, 2010 9:43 am

When recording vocals, I think my mic isn't up to scratch or something, as it records quite low level no matter what i do, so I have to record vocals, then just turn up the volume of the clip on the sample display.

Is there a way to send a seperate mix to headphones, so that I can hear my voice boosted in the mix as I record?

well attack the problem at the source first and either check your mic pre volume or mixer volume going into live. I dont know what your setup is but this should not be a big deal. Also yes you can make a cue mix to send to your headphones but you need to let me know what your using for a soundcard first.

does your mic require phantom power and is it on?

agreed on mic pre levels, crank the input level 90% of the way up.

usually sending CUE OUT to 1/2 will hit your headphones.
