Operator Filter Key Tracking

Post by eljuan » Sat May 08, 2010 10:01 pm

Hi all,

a technical question regarding Operator: In the Live Manual, Operator / Filter Section part, the manual says that the frequency knob context menu "Play by Key" sets the filter for optimal key tracking by setting Freq<Key to 100% and cutoff Freq to 466 Hz. I think I understand the setting of the "Freq<Key" parameter (wich IMHO doubles the cutoff frequency per octave), but why is the initial frequency set to 466 Hz? Is this just an arbitrary value or whats the reason behind this setting?

Thanks for any tips.

Perhaps it is the closes to being 'on key' in context to the full span of the cutoff. Which might mean you'd get a similar effect using half or double that??
