Hi!
How do I achieve this type of high frequency glistening sound in Operator or whatever?
Gives the impression that it's raining stardust over your track - absolutely brilliant!

Re: Glistening / stardust sound in Operator
For starters, I'd play with the S&H setting of the LFO.
I don't know for sure though if the notes are in tune or not.

Hey man thanks for reaching out!yur2die4 wrote:For starters, I'd play with the S&H setting of the LFO.

Now that you mention it, I think they are in tune. It's probably down to a combination of some of Live's fine MIDI plugins I reckon.

Re: Glistening / stardust sound in Operator
This is my favorite kind of sound bro....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1VLaXoRRdk
i can tell you how to create a good "whooping" sound but not this precise one
1) Drag an operator synth onto a midi track
2) Change the input wave to a "square D" wave the one that has all those voices enabled
3) Add a arpeggiator (this should be the first effect in the chain)
4) Add a reverb and increase delay but also turn on the filter to only produce high frequency noises
5) Add a redux unit following the reverb and turn it on slightly to make the high ends more crisp and distorted
6) Add a delay unit at the end to make the sound fade away slowly
7) add a compressor, eq, and spectrum (optional mastering purposes)
HERES WHAT YOU TWEAK....
-the arppeggiator rate, and also the gate
-also enable the LFO on the operator and sync it to a certain timescale iu 1/4 1/8 ....
tweaking those two should give some some crazy WHOOPING noises, and if you increase frequency rate could give you that glistning startdust...
maybe this will help maybe not.... GL!
