Out of the blue... No Beatmatching anymore.
Hi guys, I have a Ableton 8.2.1 project plenty of songs (+or- 200) all in different scenes of 2 tracks
(all the songs with Beatmatching) and suddenly one day when I opened the project as always, in some scenes some tracks are not well wrapped, there is a desynchronization between them.
The warp markers are still there, the start point is in a warp marker, All is OK as it was before but there is a desynchronization between the tracks. And in other scenes all works fine as always.
thanks in advance!

Yes..... ripped vinyls as MP3
Re: Out of the blue... No Beatmatching anymore.
This used to happen particularly with external/removable hard and flash drives. Since mp3's are not native to Ableton Live, it renders them as wav format audio. When using an external drive, and switching it to different computers, it would sometimes irritate??? the information.. I don't know the technical terms!
The other possibility is using the tracks in an older version of Ableton Live. If you have 'save'-buttoned some of the tracks, and then opened an older version of Ableton Live (after having already opened it in a newer version of live), and put those tracks INTO use in that session, it essentially rewrites the als file. Then when you open it BACK in the new version, it might have to re-scan the file and make its own warp markers.
However, if this is a saved session, that last bit should not be the case at all.

The only thing I change from time to time is the audio interface

Hey, is either your Global Quantization, or clip quantization set at something other than what you normally use????

No.. I don´t really think so..
What do you mean the Global Quantization? Where I can set it?

On the top of the screen near the Pencil tool is the Global Quantization. It tells you how long it waits before it launches a clip. There is also a clip launch quantization setting on every single clip, incase you need to override the global setting.

Well,
I create the project again starting from scratch.
Adding songs and wrapping them... And in some point the problem happens again.
I think that the problem is that I have a lot of songs of different BPM..
from 80bpm to 140bpm...
And it seems that there is a point that it is imposible
to have all the songs correctly wrapped and it is as there was 2 differents tempos in the project,
and some songs are wrapped to 1 tempo and the other ones to another.

One thing I have noticed that can help when warping tracks is to make sure the Global BPM at the top left is the Same as your track before you warp it. A little Tap for BPM Meter can come in handy for that, there are apps for it if u have a smart phone or ipod touch. I also noticed when using "Beats" Warp mode, with bigger tempo changes it can sound a little echoed. Do the peaks on the Kicks and Snares still line up on the grid?
