1. Half of it could be the fan from your computer
2. Play with a notch filter
3. Learn how to use a Gate effect.
..I guess those are my two 'quick' ways to do it. I'm sure people with more experience will have better advice.
In some ways those noises could give your samples a nice badass gritty feel!

No! I'll never use the Push-App Live 9 !!!
Re: get rid of unnecessary background noise with laptop mic
Open the samples up in an audio editor like Sound Forge or Audacity and use the noise reduction effect.
Audacity is free and does an okay job of noise removal - just highlight a sample of blank noise, use the Noise Removal effect, 'Get Noise Profile', and then apply the effect to the whole track.

just EQ out the worst offending frequencies - boost, sweep through then cut the ones you dont want - or yeah notch filter as well.
it can be loads of fun recording from that mic sometimes.
I agree a lot of it is probably fan noise, so make sure the computer processor isn't doing anything else at the same time so it might not need the fan
if you're doing it from the battery chances are it will do it's best to conserve power anyway....

-Pick the least noisy area to record. Turn off any fans, heaters, air conditions, and other non-essential applications.
-Get as close to the mic as possible.
-Use a Speech Enhancer plugin.

thanks for the tips guy. much appreciated.

U should have good headset first of all the recording sounds in silent and calm place where there are no disturbances....
Re: get rid of unnecessary background noise with laptop mic
get a mic. you will never get rid of that noise without getting rid of other audible information. it will save you a lot of headaches if you plan on doing any sort of regular recording of stuff around the house.

yea in ableton you can use the audio effects like gate, EQ eight, and like others said make sure your in a room/place with no to little background noise, like a studio. i had the same issue even using an upgraded microphone in ableton but when using my upgraded mic that i got on ebay for 40$ by Neewer I have no issues when recording in audacity as its completely quiet unless im speaking. so either a mic upgrade or some kind of gating or EQ will help your problem out a bit.

2011.
Just sayin.
Its not the most impressive necrobump we've ever had, but it makes the top 40.

We had one from 2004 last week.
I think people just google their questions and the forum thread pops up in the search results, and they don't pay attention to the date when they click to reply. It's almost always someone with only one post who seems to do this.

Have you noticed that the necrobumpers tend to post an answer to the ancient question though. That's what puzzles meTarekith wrote:We had one from 2004 last week.

I could understand if people were looking for answers via Google, that would make lots of sense, but to arrive with an answer is really confusing. I appreciate their helpful attitude, but their Google search terms leave me guessing.

I had not consider that, good call. The plot thickens...
