Anybody ever use the Magic trackpad? how well does it work with ableton?
I'd imagine it would be pretty precise when moving around waves and warping.

I use the magic track pad and it works very well. I have suffered from RSI and picking one of these up helped immensely.

Ya I think I'll get one. I love the multi-touch gestures and 2 finger scrolling. Makes editing a breezy!!

Does the Magic Trackpad offer anything over the trackpad built into Macbook Pros? Because I have last year's Macbook Pro and boy the two-finger horizontal scrolling is the best thing ever for long device chains.

i have two magic trackpads. one for our home theater pc (mac mini) and i ordered one with my new imac. i wound up adding a apple magical mouse (whateverthefuck they call it) to suppliment the trackpad. i like both and after using it a while (the trackpad) got frustrated mousing everyhwere on two monitors. i wanted a mouse.

for me personally having both works well.

It's great. The only thing is Ableton needs to support the expand and contract gesture you do by pinching fingers. That along with the other gestures really speeds things up. I also don't get any of the pain I was getting with a mouse!

Nice tips.

I thought I read somewhere that you could enable three-finger dragging to move things around in Ableton so you don't have to click and drag.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I just ordered a magic trackpad and want to make sure I get the most out of it.
