Ableton flashing vertical cursor

Ableton flashing vertical cursor

I have been using Ableton for a couple of years and have never encountered this problem before....

The vertical cursor clicks into position with the mouse, but when I hit SPACE to play from that point, it just starts playing from the 'bar brace' instead no matter what I do.

Any ideas how to solve this anyone?

Right click in the time line on the bar brace and un-check "set song start from here" that should solve it.
