PadKontrol beat repeat

Hi all
I'm new to live 8. And just getting the hang of it
I'm trying desperately to figure out how to use my padKontrol in a dj set up
Any tips? I can get pads to trigger beat repeat on but I have to hit it again to get it to turn off. What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have any templates or tutorials I could mess around with?

set the pad to send a CC number rather than a note number:

on the pK press 'enter/setting'
press the pad you want to use to trigger the beatrepeat
press 'note/cc' and spin the large dial to the right til you see numbers only, no letters.
pick any, eg. 127.
press 'enter/setting' to come out of edit mode.
now map the beat repeat to the pad.

in CC mode AND toggle mode? unlikely but possible...

It could be either way...they may have already been in CC mode and there could be momentaries on; can't say whether he's been playing around with settings or got it used from someone and it was or wasn't in default...I don't remember how the settings are in default. It's good to know either way.
PadKontrol is really simple, everything learned in it from reading the manual should sink in pretty quickly. I think I posted a template here earlier this year where I set the 1st 8 Scenes for drum rack (C-2 and up)
And the last 8 Scenes were CC's for whatever.
Will have to check later.

there you get the "pkc" software. Just check out the videos and buy one specific prog you like best.. if you get it working and you know how to come around with it, you can get a preset package and stray maybe gives you discount like the price of what you bought first. There is a lot of things you can do with your pad kontrol.

I still don't understand how to set up the padkontrol for a dj scenario...
i got my hands on a free novation 25sl and tried using that... but everytime I used the transport (whether on the device or in ableton) it froze ableton completely....
i'm obviously doing something wrong in the setup, and am getting frustrated. No matter what tutorials i watch or what forums I read, I can't seem to figure out a nice starting point for djing with the padkontrol and ableton....
and it's definitely taking the fun out of it

i feel like i'll never get it to work
