I pulled the most recent options from the Live 8.2.6 Binary for Mac OS X. There are some that are defined in other places in the code and as I find them I will update the list. If you find them or if you test some of these and find out what they do please post.

thanks for this, mauricio!

i've just been going through these, testing some out, seeing some interesting things, but not much really of use to the end user (apart from the known ones).
was about to close the window when i saw something: EnableMapToSiblings

well sheeeit! the function a lot of people have been waiting for is there already, hidden.
just tried it. it works!

put -EnableMapToSiblings=1 in your Options.txt, save, and restart Live.
now you can right-click a knob of a device inside a rack to map it to a macro, then right-click it again to see this:

Image

you can then map all the device's chain siblings to that macro.
this has been asked for since the beta of Live 8 3 years ago 8O 8O 8O
why hasnt this been added as an official sweetener? were they going to add it only in Live 9?

[conspiracy]and now it's been discovered, will they take it away from 8?[/conspiracy] :?

Very nice, thanks for the info Ableton, I mean Mauricio/Gary.

Seriously, you need a prize for this. A hidden (or maybe it's only been put in recently) feature that's been requested years ago. Solved.

Can you help me figure out what LayoutCheckFrequency works? Is there a way to make it autoupdate instead of updating when you resize something?

hi there,

first at all: i'am using mac os x 10.7.3 and Live 8.2.8

it seems options.txt is a powerful tool for live. however i didn't found the right folder or did something else wrong...
for me there is no folder /User/Library/Preferences/Ableton
i found a folder Users/*username*/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 8.2.8
the folder Users/*username*/Library was hidden !

there is a file called Preferences.cfg, so everything seems all right for me, but nothing happens with the same options.txt my friend uses and for him it works ... he's using it under windows

is that the right folder? what could be wrong ?

thx for help

That is the right folder.
http://www.ableton.com/de/pages/faq/options_text

Make sure OSX isnt changing your filename to RTF!
Also, don’t forget the hyphen (-) at the beginning of each line.

I just did this by the way and the “MAP TO ALL SIBLINGS” feature works GREAT!
I cannot think of any logical reason why Ableton are leaving this powerful, time-saving feature hidden.

I really doubt it. Live filters redundant CC events (control "change" is only needed when there's an actual change of value, and Live takes advantage of this to thin out MIDI streams by default). Sounds like this option turns that filtering off.
