Sample Changing Sound When Dragged Into Audio Track
Sample Changing Sound When Dragged Into Audio Track
No idea why this is happening. Never experienced this before.
I open up a new Ableton project, browse my sample library and drag the sample into an audio track. However, once I play that sample in the actual track window, it's lost all types of high frequency. There is no type of filer on the track, no nothing! Just a straight up audio track.
I'm messing with kick drums, and found some that have a really nice punch to them but tonight when I drag them into Ableton, all that sharp attack is lost and I have a sample with only lower frequencies. Anyone have any idea what is going on here??

Damn, part of me was hoping it was that even though I would've felt like a fool. But it's not that...
Really confused as to why this is happening. I'm basically screwed until I can figure out what's causing this.
Edit: It does sound normal when put into a drum rack, so at least I can do that. But I don't always prefer to work that way and I'm just extremely curious as to why the sample is losing the definition like this when dragged in as an audio file.. Doesn't make sense to me.

Are your sample and your Live project different sample rates?

The clips are faded on the start. There is a setting. And there are some other things. I don't know. I turned mine off. Drive me nuts for this exact situation.
Re: Sample Changing Sound When Dragged Into Audio Track
Thanks, figured it out.
For future reference or anyone who might have the same problem and stumble upon this thread:
Device/Fades chooser in arrangement view for the track in question.
Click "Fades" and it will show you the Fades setting as an automation line.
Simply change that up and you're set!
Thanks again.

Also is your sample rate setting set by default to high? Probably worth a double check of all of the settings on the screen where you can adjust the warp settings.
