midi over gone??

So i've noticed quite a few times that my midi over button is not accessible. When i click on it it doesn't highlight so i have to close down ableton and start it again then everything is fine. Does anyone have this same problem??

I don't believe I've ever run into this.

Do you have some kind of control surface script loaded that might be affect the overdub switch?

I do have an APC40 so i think yes i do have scripts loaded

Try disabling it (choose "None" in the control surface type chooser in MIDI preferences) and see if your problem goes away. This isn't a solution as I know you'll want to use your APC, but it'll help isolate the problem.

Alternately: is anything MIDI mapped to the overdub switch? Hit Ctrl/cmd+M and see if anything is.

ok thanx i'l try that next time it happens, it hasn't happened for about a week now so it seems completely random for when i do an ableton restart, the problem goes away. The only thing i map to it is sometimes the letter o
