A Live/Bidule example for a synched midi repeater

Post by conny » Sat Apr 09, 2005 7:23 pm

Todays test.
The layout is intended to be synced from a host like Live.
The main group C_SyncedMidiRepeater has these exposed options:

1- Bars to capture
2 - Transpose at playback On
3 - New Capture Each Play

When the host transport is started and 3 is checked, the layout will capture the midi from the host for the numbers of bars specified (it knows about different time sigs) and then start playing them back.
If 3 is then unchecked, it will play the bars back instantly at host start, like a midi sequence.
When 2 is checked, midi notes from the host will be compared to midi note number 60. The difference will be used to transpose the playback of the buffer, so the captured midi may be replayed at diffrent pitches determined from the received midi notes.

There are two midi outs from the group.
The first delivers notes only (that may be transposed)
The second delivers everything else but notes, like captured CC.

Known problems:
Notes at the very start of the first captured bar may not be included in the capture.
Notes at the end of the bar may get stuck until they have been retriggered by playback.

I saved the main part as a group....

When I readded it to my main rewire setup it asked for wav files.
What's that all about?

Like the insides, way past anything I've tried to do in bidule.

The media pool remembers the wav's that has been in use.
I just forgot to clear it. Irritating, but does not matter.

Edit: The new upload has a cleared media pool.
You got an early bird!

I have not tested it in rewire. I use the Plogue VST bridge (unsupported), which gives more flexibility.

There'e some kind of bug in the bar counting.
Giving it a looping two bars from Live you'll have two set the capture length to three and then when it starts deliver back, change that to two bars.
