Post by Leejohnson222 » Sun Jan 13, 2013 4:33 pm

My projects keep freezin, kontakt, halion sonic
each time I open task manager mem is spiking
I just can't get anything done I feel like smashing the pc up
I have 4th of ram but windows 7 won't see it all ad I'm jot 64 bit
Could it be a faulty ram chip?

If you run a stability test program (google prime 95) does it find errors? If it does than it's your hardware. If not, then you'll know it's a software problem. Do you have anything more to narrow down your issue? When does it happen specifically?

Ok cool I will check multicore and I will run a system test
It usually happens when I'm loading a patch, or searching in abletons search function
Sometimes I hit stop the music carries on but everything is frozen or
I just can't loaf a patch at all in halion sonic
Done times i get a message with all different komplete elements
Saying check your plug in folder kontakt is not installed
was fine when I first bought it

Is the HDD going nuts? Are you using ASIO audio or direct sound? Are there any processes running that don't need to?

My recommendation if at all possible is to have your music making system (Especially when running big plugins such as Komplete plugins) as clean and lean as possible. I have only Music and Video editing software installed on one disk and I remove it via a quick swap dock with other OS drives for games and other stuff. If that is not an option make sure you close apps like MSN, Steam and any other startup apps.
