Thanks for the reply. I should have said but I am a WindowsXP user. I guess you are Mac? The file still won't open but I have tried some of the things ou suggested.
Bit of a long shot, but open package contents (right click) and look for any unusual file names with bits added on, make a copy and store it on the desktop, and then try deleting the bit of the file name that looks as if it's been added.
Do you mean right click the .als file in the (Windows) Explorer environment or from within Ableton?
- close Live
- delete the "Preferences.cfg" , "Undo.cfg", "CrashDetection.cfg" and "Template.als" and "Undo.cfg" files (if available) from
I think I have found them in Windows here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Jon\Application Data\Ableton
I deleted thecontenet of the crash folder, "Preferences.cfg" , "Undo.cfg"
- delete the content of these two folders:
/Users/user1/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live /Database/
I found a .db file here and removed it:
C:\Documents and Settings\Jon\Application Data\Ableton\Cache\Index
I could not find a cache/web folder though.
Cheers for your help
