slowing down/changing tempo??

Post by arran101 » Fri Apr 19, 2013 2:22 pm

im still quite a newbie to ableton, up until recently i just used it to record basic songs but now im trying to get into sampling and mixing. ive sampled a drum beat i really like and reversed it, but i would really like to slow it down as it sounds a bit ridiculous! but how do i slow it down?!

sorry if this is a stupid question haha. and thanks for any help given :)

Two options: either slow down the tempo of your track in Ableton (the tempo setting at the top left corner)

OR

Open up the clip and turn on Warp in the menu area (should be near the reverse button). Yellow markers should appear above the drum track and you can drag these to stretch out the sound.

I know this is really late, but it was the first post that showed up in 2020, so for everyone else still looking for an answer:

In the arrangement view, open automations. Under the master track, select mixer, then tempo. This lets you change the tempo of the track on certain parts without any distortion or chopping if you are using MIDI tracks.
