program some shuffle into your hats / shakers

Post by Leejohnson222 » Wed Jun 12, 2013 3:14 pm

i do use some loops to try and fill out my drums but ive always wanted to know how to program
drums to get that shuffle feel in the hi hats, the balance sounds so good on the hats when its done right
anyone have any tips to achieve this ?

around 1.07 the shuffle gets going

i understand loading a groove template and applying it will shift the feel and the actual hits over the grid to give swing,
i do want to try and recreate this actual hi hat pattern, finding it a little tricky, maybe due to similar hats being used
which is good so the whole drum set sounds like it belongs together,

if i can get the general pattern then i can apply swing and try to get the feel also

If you have a loop that you like the feel of already, why not use audio to midi to extract the timing. Then you can find the right sounds/combination of sounds.
