Overlapping controllers…getting messy!

Post by benjamingordon » Wed Oct 23, 2013 9:35 pm

Hey peeps.

Im setting up a new show and i currently have a lemur (iPad), MPC, Launchpad and LaunchControl.

I am getting some strange overlapping mappings which means lights on the launchpad come on when i trigger things from the lemur app.

I have each controller on a different midi channel so i don't see how or why.

Is there anyone that could help me figure out why and how?

Thanks!!

If you are using the Launchpad in it's native mode and not re-mapping it to stuff or using custom scripts/templates you can just turn off MIDI Track & Remote output in the MIDI prefs. In fact you could turn off the input too as you only need the Launchpad activated in the "Control Surface" section if using it this way. The same goes for the APC40 which uses several MIDI channels and can suffer the same problem.

In user 1 mode, though, you lose the ability to light up the pads if you do this so it depends on how you use your Launchpad.
