Creating output tracks for drum rack while using Battery 4

Post by del64 » Wed Oct 30, 2013 8:46 pm

Hello,

I managed to load the plugin on a separate track and creating a drum rack track. On the Drum rack I used an external instrument for each drum and set the MIDI To Battery 4. I noticed that all of the sound is coming through the VST track I created. I was hoping to create each drum into a separate output to perform some basic reverb / comp editing without getting to in depth with the VST. Is this possible or will I have to go through Battery?

thanks

Yeah, you just need to separate the outputs, and set the audio input in the external instruments to the respective outputs on Battery.
Here's an ableton guide on setting the individual outs to different tracks, just use the external instrument devices instead of separate audio tracks.

Also, I made a tutorial on this using Battery 3, but from that guide it looks like the method is still similar and the concepts should carry over, between the two links you should be able to sort it out:
