Drag and Drop Midi - from Maschine 2.0

Post by Systemetric » Tue Nov 05, 2013 5:25 pm

Hello all,

Does anyone know how I can drag the whole loop (Kick, Snare, hats etc) from Maschine 2.0 to a SINGLE clip in Ableton?
This used to be possible in 1.8 But now.. Maschine exports the loop by the drag and drop method as multiple clips.
meaning... there will be as many clips as drum parts... therefore I will need to have that many instances of Maschine in the Ableton channels.

Anyone has a solution or knows how to do it as one single clip?

Thanks

I was also accustomed to dragging midi into a single clip in Ableton.
Unfortunately there does not appear to be a method for simply consolidating midi clips within Ableton.
You could record everything into a single clip that resides on another channel though.

This article on the NI Knowledge Base is quite informative and shows you how to assign each of your midi tracks to send data to a single instance of Maschine.

This method is slightly time consuming to initially setup but I do believe it will provide you an easier way to alter compositional elements and patterns without diving into a single midi clip that contains "everything".
