I have my roland fa08 keyboard connected via USB. MIDI and sound recording works completely fine.
However, when I record the sound onto Ableton, it records it as a mono signal.
I tried duplicating the track and panning one to the right and left.. but no luck.
I want the true stereo sample signal to be recorded, in stereo into Ableton..
How can I do this? I feel like I'm just a click away from it..
Also, why would duplicating the track and panning each to opposite panning not give it a stereo sound?
Thanks in advance!!!!
My USB-connected Roland Synth Keyboard only records in mono?

What is your soundcard setup?

After answering re:dream's question look at the first image here: Routing and I/O — Ableton Reference Manual Version 9 | Ableton. Do you see the inputs of the track you're recording to? - Example: Ext. In > 1 is a mono input, so Live will record a mono audiofile. Change it to Ext. In > 1/2 and you're recording stereo.
Now you are summing two identical mono signals, and that will be percieved as mono.

Stereophonic sound is all about the difference between left and right.I tried duplicating the track and panning one to the right and left.. but no luck.
