How to rename a Return track?

Post by Bigbee » Mon Nov 03, 2014 4:49 pm

Can I rename a Return track and not have a letter (A, B, C...) in front of it. Does that make sense? I want to name a Return track "Reso-LA" but Live will only allow me to name it "A Reso-LA". I want to get rid of the "A"

Seriously? Do you think it's because labeling the sends would get all confused and difficult?

Right click and press 'Rename', The letter's A B C etc will always be infront of your custom name though.

Sorry but I gave the answer based on the title of this thread.

I also don't see a reason why you shouldn't be able to get rid of the letters. It's just how it is atm.

I'd support renaming without the letter

ONLY IF the names propagated to the mixer track sends somehow.

See, I think that's WHY the letters are requisite - the simple 1:1 mapping of a send mixer label to its return track.

How crowded and hard to read would the mixer be if there were full names for sends?

When you're using 12 return tracks, would NOT having them labeled with letters make it MORE efficient when you're setting send levels?

If you think about it, the necessity becomes evident.
