Sorry to hear about the health situation-from your tutorials it sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders, so I hope do what you need to maintain balance.

Ever since Live 9, my eyes glaze over just as soon as I read about the automation arm and session record buttons. Is this really the most economical way of specifying which scope of automation or modulation is being recorded? When is session record intended when you WOULDN'T want automation armed, for example? Could you help me understand the meaning of each variation, both off, one on, both on? What is the significance for parsing these interface objects and what are the limits of either button? Intellectually I can recite what the manual says, I just have lots of resistance for why it was set up this way.

On a somewhat related note, I've had a tough time retrofitting my template session with the advent of the push. No active track appears with that nice salmon red colored record button. And I'd like certain tracks, like those dedicated for resampling for example, to behave in the original sense. Would it be better if I put all my midi tracks clustered among columns, oh man this stuff is not difficult yet I get unraveled whenever I plan to address it....
