Post by buckup80 » Wed Jun 24, 2015 12:26 am

the big question, does a person really need a audio interface to play a guitar with able ton live 9 ?
I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT A PERSON DOES NOT NEED A AUTIO INTERFACE. buckup80

Sure--if you already have a way to record your guitar on your computer/laptop, then an audio interface is not required.

you could run your guitar to your amp, then run a cable from your amp that has a 1/8 jack on one end that you could plug into your mic input on your computer.

No guarantees on the outcome... There could be some latency, but that's how you can pull it off.

Alternatively, Apogee make a small unit specifically for this purpose... it would cost less than an audio interface.
