I'm asking a total noob question but, hey, I need an answer...
I would like to send an audio track in Live 9 to an external tape machine to use its preamps.
Unfortunately I've not been able to monitor the incoming signal alone (if I cut the outgoing signal to monitor the incoming one there is no incoming signal at all because there is no more outgoing signal you know what I mean?
). Also if I monitor what's coming back it seems that the signal goes in the outgoing track too and of course I get larsen/saturation/phase/flanger stuff.How do I send an audio track out and hear what's coming back in Live?
What do studios guys use to mix DAWS tracks into external boards and effects?
I think I basically don't know how to route anything...
By the way my soundcard is a crap Focusrite Pro 14 if that helps. I use symetric outputs 1 & 2 on the back for my monitors.
